Today it was announced that triennial funding of $27,500 will be invested in the Boggabri Drover’s Campfire through the NSW Government’s 2017 Flagship Event Fund.
It is great news that the Drover’s Campfire Weekend will benefit from the Flagship Event Fund. Events play a fundamental role in attracting new and returning visitors to our regional towns, bringing with them additional business to restaurants and cafes, local tourism operators, attractions and accommodation providers.
The Flagship Event Fund represents Regional NSW at its best, with local communities coming together to stage events that showcase the unique character, culture and attributes of their region.
The Campfire weekend is growing every year and I encourage everyone to start planning a holiday to Boggabri to experience this fantastic regional event.
The Boggabri Drover’s Campfire Weekend will receive triennial funding of $27,500.
Established in 2006, the event has grown from attracting 27 vehicles, 12 tents and 57 people at the first event, to more than 500 vehicles in 2016.
The event features traditional country activities such as billy boiling, damper making and craft workshops.
The 2017 Flagship Event Fund is managed by the State’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
