Sunday will be a busier day than usual for parishioners of St Francis Xavier Church in Narrabri.

The building was highly acclaimed when it was built in 1965 and the public is invited to join parishioners to help celebrate on Sunday.
And those who do attend are likely to experience the opposite of what the 800-strong gathering who were at the opening of the church in June 1965 did.
They braved icy winds, but this Sunday the temperature is expected to be in the mid-30s.
