Wee Waa farmer Sarah Ceisolka has voiced her support of the new Landholders’ Right to Refuse (Gas and Coal) Bill 2015 at a committee hearing in Tamworth last week, but says the legislation doesn’t go far enough.

The bill was introduced to parliament earlier this year by Greens Senator Larissa Waters and gives landholders, native title holders and local councils the right to say no to coal and gas developments.

Senators from each of the major political parties are currently touring the state to gather further evidence in favour of, or against, the new bill.

LET'S TALK ABOUT SUICIDE AND MENTAL HEALTH

You are invited to take part in this month's online Friday Forum!

Top 20 wacky NSW country towns, where oddball is everyday and ’out there’ is right here

So is your town listed in this article from the Daily Telegraph.  I think they need to update the images of the Burren Bore

IN THE bush, where the weather can be as dry as the humour, some towns are battling a downturn in the rural economy.

But the quintessentially Australian spirit of refusing to be cowed is alive and well.

In a bid to stand out from the rest, NSW towns are turning fortunes around with ingenuity, resourcefulness and just a hint of quirkiness.
